Even after 10 days, lots of people still cracked under the pressure and got one as the last few hours to purchase approached and Weta sold more pieces than if they would have put an ES on it before hand. I just don't understand why Weta is doing another PO like TB. From my experience with ordering TB, I just know that this is going to be a nightmare. There, I just rained on the parade LOL, and if all of that is like the armies of Sauron scattered to dust in the wind, and your eyes still burn with acquisition fever like Gollum after a fat trout, then just get that credit card ready.Well, my stress level is already starting to rise and we are still 2 days away from preorder. Unless you are comfortably off (and life's like that so that's fine I've seen all kinds of collector pictures who have rooms worthy of museums) IMO this is a "Treebeard" piece and not for everyone anyway. IMO unless this scene has a special significance in your heart, it doesn't matter that it's an unusual art piece - and it IS that. A piece this complex = more opportunities for messy paint etc. AND u don't know what production will be like, "master series" or not. Protected from dust.Īlso IMO I think Frodo's face could be better, for a piece like this. You'd want this somewhere you can look at the details. I mean, this piece isn't like my 'Rog, who got boosted to the top of a tower shelf so he can glare at everyone and not be affected by my pets. And then there's PROTECTING the piece after you get it. A neat piece to have, but so would have been Rivendell, and that one takes space, too. I did unexpectedly hafta pay a lot right after, for the superb Eomer - but again IMO the charge at Helm's Deep is one of the most beautiful ever put on screen.īut for me this piece is kinda like Daddy Rog - cool to have if I could get it at a discount. For right now I'd shell out a lot for Beorn or Thorin-on-Ram. For some I guess it's Treebeard, others Barad-dur, and so on.
